I didn’t mean to slowly put together the entire 1991 NASCAR Maxx set autographed, and yet, I’ve gotten 40% of the set autographed as of date of posting. I’ve got at least 33 different cards currently “Pending” as I mailed them to the subject on the card. Note this does not count the Memorable Moments or Year in Review Cards that may have been sent out as well.
The biggest issue is with the 45 deceased subjects. To begin with Dale Earnhardt is featured on no less than 13 cards in the set. Obviously, the expense to add 1 signed Earnhardt card is really high, to try to get all 13 is probably a fool’s errand. As such, I have decided to cut down the cards I don’t have signed down to 1 per subject if possible. I would add extras as I can, but it will be a long haul to get there.
At present, I have 98 signed cards in hand, out of a total of 240. The four checklists don’t matter, taking the total to 239. The additional Memorable Moments and Year In Review cards I don’t have take the total subjects 199 total cards to get signed. I ordered a Cale Yarborough card via ebay for a song just today, but it is not in hand yet.
The cards listed “never sent” are cards that I didn’t have address for when I was putting this set together last. I will find those cards in the near future and send them out to try to make some progress.
